This weekend Brad & I went to MN for a short Thanksgiving break. Typically, things can be a little crazy when most of the family gets together....but this year went amazing! My brother and sister-in-law weren't able to be there, so it was just my two sisters, one husband, 6 kids, my parents, and Brad & I! But it was a ton of fun. When Lisa arrived with her 3 girls on Saturday, Megan walked in happy-go-lucky but Emma, not so much. For some reason, we think its a game to her, but she will pretend to be shy and give dirty looks to Bradley (and me if I'm around him) until she decides to be happy and like us. It's very entertaining. So, that was fun in and of itself. The rest of the day was spent eating and watching the kids play. Everyone got along. Only one kid cried. And I got lots of funny pictures/videos.

The bad news about the weekend is that my dad was sick with a really bad cold before we came up, then gave it to my mom and sister, who were sick while we were there. And one of my nieces and nephews were sick also. I woke up this morning with a sniffly/snuffy nose and a semi-dry throat. I sneezed the entire way home. I told my mom I was sending her the hospital bill and cancelling Christmas if they decided to get sick during our next visit. That's fair, right?!

Hope you had a great Turkey day too!

Boredom

Right now I should be starting supper but am feeling a bit lazy, plus I haven't really updated my blog like I said I would :)
Monday evening I went to Davenport with Amy Young to go shopping and meet up with Hannah Lange. I was on a mission for jeans and I'm not sure if Amy had a mission. lol. I'm not sure I've ever tried on so many pairs in my life. And the problem with every pair: not long enough or too expensive. The ones that I found were long enough were $70. And I was NOT willing to pay that much for jeans. $30 is my max. Needless to say, I didn't find any. Then, I was wandering in American Eagle the next day, still on a mission, and saw a lineup of jeans that looked like they were longer than their normal ones....so I walked over to the rack....and found they were on sale for $30....and they fit and were long enough! I was very happy :) So, I stuck to my mission and now I have a well-needed, new pair of jeans! To top it off, I went to the check out and expressed my joy only to find out after what.....10 years of shopping there....that they have extra long jeans you can order online! I was like HOW THE CRAP did I never know this?!?!? I think they lady thought I was whack cause I was so flabbergasted. That's my Tuesday jeans story.
Other than that not much is new and exciting is in our world, yet it seems like things have been busy. I've been running lots of errands and Brad is in the midst of searching for a new job, so things seem a little more hectic than normal. My new job is going well, I was told today that I was "very efficient" and "fast." I had almost forgot how nice it was to be told you do a good job! It's not like Starbucks where everyone tells each other that they're rock stars. And it's not like Starbucks where I dance and sing all day, on top of my normal duties. Although, the dancing and singing kinda became a request by most ;) But it's a job and it's nice not to be so wrapped up in having to work 40 hrs a week. Truly.
You can continue to pray for me though. I really want to keep up doing my devotions and relying on God for everything. But I've been slacking these past couple weeks in being consistent, which I hate.
Anyways, I should PROBABLY start supper now. Thanks for listening. Maybe Brad and I will take some fun pictures tonight. I'll post them up soon, if it happens. Have a great night!

An update....

I noticed while checking the Smith's blog that there were many other people that used this "service" that I haven't caught up with in a very long time. So, I decided to start a blog. Besides, myspace bites and I only use facebook to chat with a few people. So, here I am. Let's start from the beginning:
I went to Emmaus Bible College, w
here I met Bradley Stuart Meyer. We dated all four years of college and he ended up proposing to me November 8th, 2006 (which just so happened to be the same night Kevin and Amanda Vandekrol got engaged also, weird, I know). Eight months later, on July 28th, 2008 we got hitched :) We are now living in Dubuque going to Great Adventure Church and fairly content with our lives here. Never would have though Dubuque would be the place we would stay, but hey, it works.
Brad has technically 2 jobs, he works for two computer stores here
in town. He started at RCS Computers and his boss decided to leave that company and start his own business. So Bradley has been working between the two places for now, no more than 40 hrs a week though :) I was working at Starbucks, but they closed October 10th of this year. I now work at a small coffee shop downtown called Jitterz. I'm only part time as of right now and it will, Lord willing, only remain that way. And for the first time in my life, I have a set schedule at my job, which is awesome! When I'm working, I've been wanting to get together with different women from the church just to chat, since a lot of them are stay at home moms. Or if they needed help cleaning or with meals, I've been wanting to just help out more, I guess. So, that's our life as of right now. And hopefully this will help me stay in contact with people just a little more. Here are some pics of us over the years:

This is at Dan and Georgi's apt the day he proposed. He made me a scrapbook!

Look at him, all proud of the ring.

This is how the room looked after setup. This pic does no justice!

He had a trail of candles leading to the scrapbook :)

And this is us afterwards, all happy and on cloud 9!

Our wedding day :)

My father and I. He looks slick.

Us happy. Still are.

We went to Coldstone on our honeymoon.

I'll try to keep this updated and add some more recent pictures of us. So, until then....
